But who are these people and is this a scam? me, my fiance, and his boss have recieved calls from this number claiming to be serving papers and when they called his boss they told him they were uniformed police officers and would be serving papers in the next few days. The call i recieved was from a Jim Prescott who asked if I had authorized anyone to sign checks for me and when i replied no he asked if i knew my fiance and when i told him yes and that it was my fiancee he chuckled and said i would be recieving a subpeona to testify against my fiance and my fiance's mother. When he kept asking me questions i finally stopped him to ask what this was all about and he gave a vague nothing answer then continued on so I again told him if he wasnt going to tell me what this was about then he should quit talking about it. At this point I was rather belligerant but I continued to cut him off trying to find out what this was about. Then he said "well kanda you're in a mess of trouble and you will be served" and proceeded to hang up on me.
I've been getting calls from this number for a couple of days and I did not answer. So today I decided to answer the call thinking it was a call from my insurance company in Metairie LA. This lady asked can she speak to ????(my fathers name) I said you have the wrong number. She said well is this ???? (my whole name, fist,middle and maiden last name) I said this is she, How can i help you? She said that my father gave them my number as a ref and that they were a carrier service that needed to deliver some papers to him. She also said that He made arrangments for them to come out at 3pm but she tried to call him back to confirm and he did not answer. So I asked what are you needing to deliver, she said some papers that needed his signature from the Caddo Courts. I asked her can she hold on and I put her on mute. I called my father from another phone and told him what was going on, he told me he does not know anything about that, and that he has not talked to anyone about coming to his home nor has he giving my number to anyone. Before I could return to the lady on the phone she hung up on me. This was very strange.
