Caller ID: Mapping Department
A local area code. They called and the phone rang once, then they hung up. Do they want people to call them back to verify it's a live person on the other line so they can pitch sales or sell the number to someone else?
This is one of many calls from different numbers that I get ALL DAY LONG. It starts with a robot saying "Our records indicate that there are several listings on Google Maps for your business." or some such thing. It's a scam where they have you look up your biz, and funny enough, THEY can't seem to find your business, even though you can see it easily on Google right in front of your face. They try to transfer you to a hard-sell "manager", but I got off the phone before that happened. I've been around this particular block many times. They use some generic name for their alleged company. The Do Not Call List means absolutely nothing to these people.
