The spoofed phone calls from "Loyola Univ." keep rolling on through. Today, Nov. 15, 2012, a call hit at 6:59 PM, from a landline in New Orleans through South Central Bell. The number was checked through the web site for the real Loyola University, with no results.
The previous number used by this creep was 504-861-5879. It got no results with the real Loyola University, either.
Reports are being sent to the alumni office at Loyola, and it is hoped that the university's computer science people can find out who the perpetrator is, and succeed in having strong action taken against him. (I have every reason to believe that I know who this person is; it depends upon whether other phone calls from these numbers are reaching other people connected with Loyola.
These people also use numbers 504-861-5839 and 504-861-5845.
I have reported the calls to the FCC and the FTC. The calls are coming through Twtelecom, and I've written to the general manager for Louisiana, Michael Nictakis, about this -- to ask him to find out who it is and to stop it. We shall see.
