The call starts off with an interactive recording that sounds like a real person, but's not. The pitch is a scare tactic telling you theives are cutting your phones, disabling your home security systems "in your area". They say they're giving away free systems that are "secure and can't be cut" and want to come to your home. It'll prompt you with the questions, "How are you today", "Are you the current homeowner", and "I'm going to transfer you to one of our representatives, is that ok". If you agree to speak to a real person, you hear a crowded room background and then a real person comes on. When I tell them not to call anymore, they sarcastically say "Oh, we're shredding your file as we speak". These scammers have repeatedly called from this number as well as various other numbers, some local, some not. Most of the time the I.D says "customerservice", but sometimes it's variations of "alarmco" or "homesecure". This scam is a dangerous one as they're trying to get you to invite them to your home. I.D theft is one thing, but this is potentially fatal.
