Received 74 calls in the last 60 days. Most of them I didn't answer but they were very persistent. Were willing to sell to buyers ready to purchase but I had to pay $1450 for the legal title document fees. It is a scam. They told me they were not allowed to accept the whole number of the card because of fraud. So "my" Representative "Steve Reed" insists I give him ONLY the first 12 digits. That is all he wants. He explained that the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) will put me through a 2-minute verification process to ensure all transactions were legal. Well another person I've never spoken to before calls me and I answer about 5 yes or no questions and he asks for the last four of my credit card number and the 3-digit code on back. Coincidentally he's calling from the same number! 505-750-0920.
Needless to say I went online to check this company out, Timeshare Goldline and saw all the scam reviews. I gave them a bogus number. My Rep Steve called me back and said there was a problem with my card. But this time I could give him the full 16 digits. I gave him the same bogus information. Then I received several calls from different people all from the same number claiming to be from different offices to confirm my number. Finally I told them I would call my bank and see what was wrong with my account. I'm sure they will follow-up tomorrow!
Let me know if anyone has had a positive experience.
Yep, the same thing just happened to me. When he wanted the first digits, I felt like it was a scam and hung up on him.
How do you go about reporting something like this ?
