Male with very heavy accent left phone message. Gave a name, which is completely garbled, also mentioned a check to be forwarded, or something similiar, again too garbled to make out clearly. Stated I needed to "call back the number 507-323-9647", which is in Minnesota. I did not - waiting for a second call to find out what the scam is, but it's been 2 days now and no return call.
It's a scam. I've received calls from 2 numbers. They want money for winnings. I've asked advice and have been told not to send them money that a legitimate sweepstakes wouldn't ask for money or call you and a reputable sweepstakes wouldn't ask you to pay a processing fee. They are persistant. They were gonna come to my house then we got scared and said just mail the check if we won. I can't find any info on the company names they mention and I'm not sure what company it even is. I hope I don't have to call the police, I'm worried.
