9:21AM call. Lately, we are among the first to get the 'new' number calls; I come here and there are either no complaints yet, or very few. We do not answer, nor 'engage' with these people - all likely Indian Call Center SCAMMERS, and yet we seem to be 'prime targets' for them, especially when they spoof another number and start all over again. NEVER have given out any info nor gotten anything stolen from these calls; why are we still on their list? Let this one go to ans. machine, as spouse has business associates in 508 area code; no msg left.
Anyways, my best guess is this is yet ANOTHER of the "Switch Your Electric Provider/Buy Solar Panels Over the Phone" CREDIT CARD/IDENTITY THEFT Phishing SCAMS. We are at almost the 250th call in less than a year from this scam alone. This is the new variation on the 'lowering your interest rates' scam of years past.
This area code is the WORCESTER, MA area, NOT the locations stated above which are Boston locations. Worcester is a 60-90 minute drive from Boston!
Ironically, Solar Power is kinda at a standstill in Mass right now; the Investors, both big & small are waiting for the State Legislature to raise the cap on the solar-generated excess electricity "buy-back" from the Utilities. Without that, it doesn't make financial sense to go solar right now. The homeowner/'little guy' is going to be stuck 'holding the bag' on this one.
Less than three hours later, we get a call from 657-464-2623 "Huntington B CA" a number in this same scam series that first called Wednesday 1/27 and was immediately blocked after checking 800Notes! One ring & cut off! Ha!
