My mom (age 80) received call yesterday 3/6/17 -- same scenario: grandson in accident, crying w broken nose and stitches, DUI in jail; need money 5000 but attorney / bail bondsmen got it down to $1900-- Lance Marshall-- she fell for it by coincidence while my dad was being taken to hospital after a fall at home and she was on way to hospital when call came in -- went to bank and then wal-mart and wire the money to Boston address (CVS).
Call from a Larry Marshall re a grandson in an accident in Atlanta, GA. Claimed he was arrested and charged with DUI and reckless endangerment. Bail set at $4000 but got it reduced to $1900 because of clean record. Told to wire money to a Kimberly Moyer at 44 Court St NY,NY 11201. Advised to tell wire service reason for sending is a family matter. This would keep a public record clean!
My grandfather received a call from Lance saying my grandson had been in an accident in Danbury Ct. involving a pregnant woman. They put his "grandson" on the phone and claimed he had a broken nose and he was crying and that he was being held in jail and not tell his parents and they took his phone away they also said to please wire a MoneyGram of $2,500 at Walmart to Scott Richmond, 44 court st, NY, Ny and the next day Kimberly Moyer an additional $2,500 to the same address. They gave us a case number of 157731B. And unfortunately wired the money. Hoping they will never fall for something like this again. THIS IS A HUGE SMAM!!!!
