This blatantly spoofed phone number called my DNC listed landline today at 1237 hours. A man with a thick accent asked something about my alarm system. I had to ask him to repeat himself because he was almost unintelligible. He said he wanted to verify that my alarm system was over 3 years old. I asked him what business that was of his, to which he claimed he was the manufacturer of our alarm. Yeah, right. And I was born on the moon. I told him he was calling a Do-Not-Call phone number (he began apologizing) before adding, "Furthermore, you're obviously spoofing your phone number because you aren't from Northbridge," (which is the 508-234 exchange, despite what this site lists above), "so whatever your scam, f&*^ off!" So it looks like the scam artists allegedly selling alarm systems have a new angle they're trying AND they're spoofing local phone numbers to trick people into answering.
