They called us this morning at 8:29 am which, by the way, is too early for a business call. When they called, I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer the phone, and they didn't leave a voice mail.
I am like the earlier poster who said he doesn't answer the phone unless he knows the caller. If someone puts 'unidentified' or 'private' or something similar on their message shown to Caller ID people, which is just about everyone these days, I don't answer the phone. If they are trying to hide from me, I don't want to talk to them. If it is an important call, they'll eventually leave a voicemail.
They've called me about 15 times in the last 2 weeks, always some foreigner with a thick Indian accent, saying they need to update my online business listing. I of course did a reverse lookup on the number and it seems to be registered to a residence; that just tells me that it's certainly a junk call from some no good dirty rotten scammer. My business is on the National Do Not Call Registry, and each time they call I nicely tell them specifically that I am not interested in a solicitation, and that I am on the DNC Registry, please remove my # from their lists, and do not call me again. They insist on telling me that it is not a solicitation and keep talking, at which point I hang up on them. They must be re-mixing my number back into the list of businesses to call, 'cause I keep getting called, in spite of asking them not to. So I'm actually thinking of messing with them a little, maybe try to get them to buy something I'm selling. Or, pretend I'm really hard of hearing and keep asking them to repeat themselves. Or, pretend to be some lonely old soul and I'll tell them about my bowel movements......
I've been getting calls from this number for almost 10 years. I keep telling them that the business they are calling was closed in 2003, but they keep calling.
