Shawn Austin, from the Detection for Financial Fraud, said he is coming to my work to arrest me. He has what he thinks is my SS# and home address. I have been receiving these calls every week for about a year now, keeping a log of their names and numbers, reporting each one so now I just play with them. Pissed this guy off so bad he started sexually harassing me. Told him to go back to Iraq so the Americans can shoot him.
Yes i got call from this number while as i was at work, and he told someone at my job that he was a officer and gave out a badge number. So be careful with folks.
I received a call yesterday and they threatened my job, screamed at me and told me that I was going to be arrested. At first I freaked out because they DO have my SSN and bank account number (had fun cancelling everything yesterday). but in the end I told them to KISS MY A@# and not to call me any longer. I will say I get a kick out of the names they use...... Jeremy Harrison and Don Ramsey, what a joke, they are calling from INDIA!
I received over 20 phone calls and about 10 voice mails from these people yesterday, and another two calls today. It was the same scenario that everyone else describes, except my caller would give a different name but the first name started with C and the last name with M. He even used two different names in the same call, obviously he lost track of his aliases. They really scared the daylights out of me and had me calling my bank and wondering if I should call an attorney. But since they told me that I had supposedly received a loan from Cash Advance, I went on their website to find their phone number, and that's where I discovered this warning that it's a SCAM! Thank goodness.
Debt Collection Scam Alert
Have you been called by someone claiming you have defaulted on a loan and will face criminal prosecution unless you immediately wire them the money?
It is probably a scam.
Here's what to do:
If you receive a suspicious telephone call regarding an outstanding debt:
* Ask the caller to provide official documentation verifying the debt.
* Don't provide or confirm any bank account, credit card, social security number or other personal information over the phone.
* Please report suspicious calls to your local law enforcement.
HOW do these people get away with this??? And I wonder if it would really do any good to call my local law enforcement?
