They called and said, "Hello, this call is about your high cable bill, if you are interested in lowering your bill press 1" There is just one problem I've never had cable.
We were called from this number on CallWave, the Internet Answering Machine, but no message was left. The call took place at 2:32 p.m. Central Time, and they left no message. The Caller ID places it in Westboro, MA (Massachusetts), but I live in Kansas.
Other people have reported them talking about "high cable bills", but we don’t have cable. It sounds like they're selling satellite TV, but we have to pay extra to our landlord to install that, too; so I don't know what they want.
Just got a call from (508) 329-4138 and I answered. I got a recording stating that this call is about my TV and if I want to save 30% off my cable bill to Press '1'. I hung up, but clearly this is a telemarketing call. By pressing '1' I might have gotten a live person, or I could have opened my line (by providing a dial tone) to a spool of international callers using my line. I feel silly enough having answered a # I don't know. This number traces out to Westboro, MA and I am in Seattle.
