How about the police, regulators and FBI that we already fund and staff IN HUGE QUANITY actually doing their job and aggressively enforcing the laws?
How about using all the money the government already collects by taxing landlines and cellphones as "luxuries" to actually fund telephone regulation and telephone law enforcement instead of diverting it to other activities that have nothing to do with telephones?
I'll support additional money on this problem when you can prove to me that 100% of current telephone taxes are being spent on telephones. Hint: You cannot prove that because very little of telephone taxes actually go to telephone-related government services.
You are partly correct. The cure to this problem is more government action but money is not the problem. Politics is the problem.
Got a call from this number claiming to be the Vehicle Processing Department. That's funny, I don't remember buying a new vehicle. (SCAM) I've told them to stop calling but they still keep calling. At what point is this considered harassment and how do we get these damn people to stop calling!??
I never pick up numbers I don't recognize, but this "Attleboro" number looked like someone I knew. The caller, with a thick accent, claimed to be from the "Vehicle Protection Center" in Los Angeles (or something similar) and tried to sell me a car warranty (AKA steal my information). She knew what kind of car I have. Scary! Where did they get my information from?
