I got a text message in Spanish with the same story about my family member in a accident in front of a gas station, in the text they used my last name so I called them and they said that it was my brother and they were going to kill him.
A text from this number was received "a member of your family had an accident in front of a gas station, please call urgent..." obviously i didn't call, because i know he wants me to call to get money using calling cards. 2 days later i called it was a guy with a puertorican accent so when i asked him about the text he just said "too late papa"
They called me today too with the same story but told me they we're holding her hostage and we're going to kill her if I didn't send them 2500.... They called my sister to and told her they had my brother with the same threats
They called my mom with this [***]. Said that a family member was in an accident in a gas station. When my mom asked for the car model or how the person looked they said "Junioto, Matalo" (Junito, Kill him)
Dude was Puerto Rican accent.
Reporting this to the police, my mom called me crying thinking something had happened to one of us.
