We got a call from this number today at 12:32 pm. The caller ID was AUBURN MA, and it was blocked by our call blocker. This is apparently a new number for these lowlifes. We previously got a call from 508-407-7267 with the same caller ID. It has been my experience that calls with the name of a city as the caller ID are most likely not legitimate, Our call blocker blocks all calls with the caller ID of AUBURN MA among other city names. I highly recommend such a device to avoid these nuisances. In the technological battle between robocalls and a call blocker, the call blocker always wins.

The phone #'s will change as frequently as need be. It is so easy for criminals to spoof another tel #. I've even received calls with my caller id info showing up on the phone. It's truly a losing battle. Because as soon as they determine that their # is identified as "fake", they'll just spoof another one. And there are endless supplies of tel #'s
Anyone can purchase spoofing software. And or, there are now apps which can do the same thing. It's providing criminals with a whole new tool to open the door, if you will. The most disconcerting component with this spoofing technology is that they will utilize real #'s from real companies too. I.e.: banks etc. people will assume the call is legitimate because called id says "bank x".
WARNING.....ANYTIME ANY COMPANY CALLS ASKING FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND YOURE NOT 100% POSITIVE WITH WHOM YOU ARE SPEAKING, HANG UP AND DIAL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE # ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD. THIS WAY, YOU WILL HAVE CONFIDENCE IN DISCUSSING PERSONAL ACCOUNTS ETC.
