It's a telemarketer trying to get you to change your electric company, they called my cellphone 5 times today, when i answered it and told him im on the do not call list he hung up, then the idiot called me back 5 minutes later saying the same bs, if there company was so good they wouldn't need to be harassing people,, this is not the first time that this place has called me and everytime i say no there extremely rude,, im very aggravated by there repeated phone calls....
This number called my DNC listed landline today at 1205 hours. Because 99% of all calls I get on my landline are scam artists (because legit companies know better than to call), I suspected this one might also be a scammer. However, with the 508 area code I also thought it might be a wrong number. I picked up the phone but said nothing. The call disconnected after a brief delay. Now that I know its the electric scam artists calling, I've blocked the number. BTW, I blocked my info and called the number back. I immediately got a recording saying that the person I'm calling is not accepting calls at this time, to try again another time. A legitimate company would accept phone calls - AND they wouldn't be illegally calling people on the DNC list. These people are clearly not operating on the level.
It does, indeed, sound like a scam. My town has its own Electric department. Whether or not it's possible to change, we have no motivation to do so. When there are area blackouts, our town's power is OK because we're not waiting in line with other towns to have service restored.
