This number called our business today at 1133 hours. Caller ID said "Milford, MA" which is not far from us. A lousy recording during which the sound kept popping in and out started on about "Have you thought about selling your business?" I immediately disconnected. I'm not about to do business with a company that cold calls me with a crappy prerecorded message from a number that was likely spoofed. (If it wasn't spoofed, why doesn't an internet search hit upon a legitimate company? In fact, the only footprint this number seems to have on the internet is people complaining about their calls.)
This number called our business again, this time today at 0951 hours. Caller ID said, "Milford MA." I picked up, thinking it might be a customer, said, "Hello?" There was nothing. I said, hello, a second time and the same stupid recording about "Have you thought about selling your business" began. I slammed the phone back down. I haven't thought about selling my business but I HAVE thought of all the evil, painful things I would like to do to scam artists and spammers who plague me on a daily basis.
For the heck of it, I blocked my number and called the number back. Another idiot recording cheerfully greeted me and after an inane spiel which included the claim that it was "Merchant Mark Dot Com" (there appears to be no such business as merchantmark.com, so it's probably more like scammersRus.com) and asked me to leave my name and number. I left a very different message instead, one that would have gotten a large, foul bar of soap in my mouth had I still been a child. I'm so sick of these scam artists wasting the time of legitimate businesses.
