This guy just tried call me, tried to call the number back and cant get through, red flag this is a hoax or a phishing scam to get my credit info, there needs to be something done about this crap, it is harrasment!
Got a call from 508-553-1938. Thank God google brought me to this notification site.
This is a complete scam. Do NOT trust anyone from this number, and do NOT give out any of your information. These people tried to contact me twice this summer, once in July and once 2 days ago. Neither time have they contacted me directly. The first time they called they contacted my grandmother and harrassed her (swore at her, threatened her, etc) for 30 minutes. This ended up being icing on the cake when she died two weeks later. Two days ago they contacted my boyfriend, refused to identify themselves, and then gave him a long-winded tirade about how it wasn't "good enough" that he didn't get out of work until 3 and our only means of communication just happened to be in his pocket (this was the time when Hurricane Irene was traveling through his family's area and so the cell phone stayed with him in case they needed to contact him for any reason). Now, because of their tone and attitude we assumed it was a Collection's Agency, I do have two outstanding debts right now, but they are both being handled by companies that I am already in contact with. Plus, I live in Maine, a company from Mass sounded really fishy to me. We tried to call them back after he got out of work to see if we could settled whatever was going on, but the line continued to ring. No voicemail picked up telling us office hours or what the company was. What reputable company, in this day and age, doesn't have a voicemail system up and running? Just to cover our bases we contacted the place I owe money and the agencies I am currently dealing with, and all assured me they do not have any dealings with companies in Mass. This afternoon we tried calling back to the number to explain the situation and demand identification, otherwise we would take it to authorities, and the number had been disconnected. I will be filing a complaint with authorities in the morning, but in the meantime do NOT trust whoever this person is that is calling and harrassing you from this number.
Got call from Allan Post at work. He says he has left messages and so have his colleagues (they haven't) and he "doesn't know what the confusion is." Sounds like a complete a____. Obviously I won't be calling back. Why would anyone answer a cell call from "restricted" anyway?
I wondered what fly-by-night losers like you did in their spare time. Now we all know. They post on sites designed to expose their illegal "collection" tactics. Folks, try a good metal whistle or airhorn. Then you'll have this losers attention.
And, to stop him from calling, contact a consumer attorney you find in the phonebook (I sadly must say do NOT check online, as there a ton of scams there, too) and ask for a consultation about what constitutes legal harassment in your state, money owed or not. Usually, it's just letting them know either in writing once or so-many-times verbally not to contact you (you do NOT need to communicate with them, even through if you owe the money you probably should) and you may wind up winning more than you owe, if you actually owe anything. As someone with a very common last name, we get tons of calls for people with our last name, and have sued 2 collection agencies and won both cases. Not a lot of buckage, but a GREAT DEAL of satisfaction. Especially both times, our demands have included terminating the people who actually made the calls. Never looks good to have your name in a lawsuit.
