So, what number actually called you? Since this site is numbers driven, why would you post under a number thread not associated with the number that called you? Seems unhelpful.
Because they have systems which change the number called-from display. Same scam, different numbers. Helpful to have all of the numbers documented in one place.
Ah, but most people search by specific number. If a scammer is using more than one number, both usually get listed as separate entries. If all the numbers were listed in one giant list, the list would be ponderous and not be so easy to search out comments such as in this thread. Also the "One List - ALL Numbers" would tend to be populated by the many spoofed numbers that scammers use. Your own number might end up on a Blacklist, and you might not like that.
For Example, let's say you call someone up about a job, the person you are calling will not recognize your number. They look up your number and find it has been blacklisted because it was spoofed. Your call is not answered or returned. Thanks to a scammer who spoofed your number, you were rejected out of hand. Ouch!
The system of "one number - one entry" also allows for comments, and the comments are what are useful. If Robert makes distinct separate entries, both numbers he reports are accounted for. From his twisted wording, I am not even sure either of his reports are useful - he says he did not get a call from 508-556-6842. His post was for nothing unless he posted to some 302-xxx-xxxx, that he did not even provide complete info for. His suffering at the hands of the scam goes for naught as none of us are the wiser.
B-Edwards' reply to you is a good one.
It explains both the utility of this site, as well as the best way to use it.
However, if you are a glutton for numbers, I will reveal Slim's Access to Uncle Sam's Not-So-Supersecret Selectve Database of Telemarketing (including do not call and spoofing) or Robocalls Numbers about which people complained.
Ready for this?
Whack your clicker finger below for a database that was started over a year ago:
https://opendata.fcc.gov/Consumer-and-Governm ... Calls/vakf-fz8e
Request:
After you digest that database, return here and tell us which is more "user friendly", 800notes or that humongous database that will probably not fit in your call blocker.
