an obvious hacker--no message--no proper caller id. I would advised all members to immediately BLOCK this call!! Also--a dead giveaway--called just at dinner hour in the USA (between 5:30-7:30 pm).
Microsoft scam they tell you your computer is infected - try to trick you into getting on your computer via teamviewer. I played along on a virtual windows machine they deleted crucial files and then the doc file when I said would not pay the $ 299. Why can't we shut these @#$%# down. My friends parents fell for this scam and they are retired and on a fix income,
They have been calling us every other day. It's the same "Microsoft Security" scam. I toy with them for awhile and eventually the get the message -- but others keep calling our number.
Aready Figured it was spam when he said "hi ma'am, I'm _____ from Microsoft" (I'm a Mac user) with an Indian accent. Impressive that he sounds like he's caling from a legit call center. Decided to mess with him and let him take charge of the call. Tried to play dumb when it came to how to operate my computer - when I asked him if he already knew what kind of machine I used the line went dead lol. Call me back so I can mess with you some more!
