this man called the house phone saying that he worked for disabled children and veterans and that he would like to ask for a donation, needs to say thought it was a scam so we hung up, he called again 4 times stating where my parent works, how many kids she has and all this information being very sketchy about it

Sick stalkers like him should sleep with both his eyes opened cause he don't know whats going to happen to him anytime of the day or the night. Maybe his roof might collapse on his head or the vehicle he drives to stalk people might hit a tree, his heart might stop working. A lot of things can happen.
Just hang up.. don't listen. Sometimes they buy a town census list with info. Other times they may b honest but the company they work for is a scam. There are slime balls that set up phoney call centers and hire jobless people who are desperate. I don't think it takes much to get town census lists. U can buy almost any info at a price. There are some companies that will collect for a charity and give just 2% of proceeds to try not to get arrested. As soon as u can tell its a money request call or they identify themselves vaguely or say some stupid thing like" did u know the FBI says that breakins...buy this security system" hang up.if they say this is your credit card holder but they don't say the name .. They're going u don't notice!
They can't hurt u. Just don't give them a chance to talk. U can always say you'll call the local police with their phone number...that works if its not a computerized call..
They eventually give up after a slam or two.
