Called our Landline tonight; almost 9PM. This is BS. At least now I can BLOCK this number. Got the pre-recorded message this time. Might transcribe for the feds. They are claiming this is part of the "Economic Recovery Act" and that electric bills are 'scheduled' to go up by 46% in two months! Got NEWS for ya, scammers; our bill when up by almost 100% last winter!
They keep calling me too! I told them I am on the DO NOT C...and they hang up on me. When I try to call them back, the line is busy or doesn't go through. I get so many of these calls, what good is the do not call list if no one makes these jerks abide by it? I too am SICK OF THESE CALLS!
These spammers have learned to Hijack local phone numbers in areas they are spamming. The phone number itself might belong to an innocent person who is unaware that their number was hijacked for spam purposes. I read about one poor lady who was being harassed by angry callers responding to the spam that had hijacked the lady's number. Please think of this sad fact before you call back the number and blast them out for spam. I even had a spammer hijack my own phone number and call me from it. Yes the spammers called me with my own damn number.
I wish there was a way we could stop them from hijacking innocent people's phone numbers for their spam.
Just got a call, called them back and the recording allowed me to press "1" to get off their preferred marketing list. Might be worth trying if you can get through.
the phone number displayed is not the caller. I have called law enforcement. these are overseas identity thieves hoping you will pock up. they program numbers that look valid into your display. I got one from CVS. thought thats who it was, picked up and pakistani accented man said cvs needed our social security#. ha. hung up. I never pick up the phone unless I know the person now
