Answered a call and the other end was dead. Waited, nobody picked up. I called back and a fax machine answered. I told the fax machine to destroy all sentient life in the room. Heard a scuffle then the line went dead.

Received a call from this number. When I didn't recognize the number from caller ID, I let the answering machine pick up. An elderly sounding woman left a message asking three times for Mr. H....... When I called the number back, it sounded like a fax machine and the line went dead. As MRJ said above "Sounds like a prank or trying to see if someone is home." Thank goodness for caller ID!
I've noticed that this number appears several times in my caller id. Comes from Edgartown, Ma. Person called and asked for William. I said 'hello'. They said 'Hello William?'. I said yes. Then they stopped talking. Called the number back and got the fax sound. This is very suspicious. The line is supported by Level 3 communications.
Get this call frequently and identifies self as a chimney cleaning service (Patriot Home) Have told them to stop the calls as on the Do Not Call List (DNCL) . Filed a formal complaint with the DNCL registry with this last call. No company by that name in Edgartown.
