Got the same call - looking for business owner. After I read all the complaints about this so called person on the web, I called back & left him a msg stating that we make all our donations through my brother, who is with the State Police! It will be interesting to see if he calls back.
Got a call today from "Charlie Christian" claiming to be with the Mass State Police. He was looking for a business owner, and when I said we'd gone out of business, he hung up on me. I don't even know if he's in any way connected with the Massachusetts State Police.

I got a call by the same man Charles Christian, claiming to be with the state police. He left me a voice message at first. He did say that there were no problems and to just give him a call back. I called him back and actually gave him a chance to explain why he was calling. He said he was looking for a donation for a state police magazine and he wanted me to advertise with the magazine. I said well it sounds interesting it is close to Christmas time so I don't think I will be making any donations at this time. But if you can mail me a packet stating exactly what the options are for the magazine that would be great. He didn't want to do such thing. He wanted my credit card number or a check over the phone. I said I was busy with work and couldn't continue to talk on the phone. He said that he would try calling me back beginning of next week. I said fine. I've been ignoring his calls and he's been calling me twice a day leaving messages. I definitely starting getting suspicious because of all the phone calls. Why would a real state trooper waste this much time trying to get a donation. So I googled his name. And I found this blog. Hmmm go figure.
I think I'll answer his next phone call and tell him to [***]. Or I will call the real state police and report him.
Wow, I just got the call today and was so worried. But Im glad I searched the number and this blog came up. Has anyone called the actual State Police to tell them this is going on and to worn people? Im just curious.
