They told me they were from IRS and theyhad a law suit against me and the number they leftwas 1-509 207 4646 but on my caller ID it was ILLinois Call 1-312-509 9040 and hung up, went on line right away to contact you
this number left a voicemail identifying themselves as the IRS. They stated that a lawsuit was filed against me and I need to contact them as soon as possible!
I too received the same message. I called the number and there is no official business greeting. I phoned the two IRS branches in Washington, as the area code is WA, and did received a business greeting. Suspicious.
Folks it is the makings of a scam. This IRS scam being carried out by foreign scammers has become the most popular, money making scam over the past year or so. The IRS does not threaten arrest or sue, nor do they attempt to collect over the phone. Their first/initial contact will always be by USPS mail .
Don't call the number back and if you answer, hang up.
