A voice recorder left a message on my answering machine. The caller pretending to be from IRS, told me that IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. Please be aware that a legitimate call from an agency such as IRS, would have left an agent's name, contact # and dept # (not just a phone #) and would have given you a case # to refer to. Also, the legitimate IRS would have given you a letter sent to your address. If I'm not mistaken, it is against the law to imitate a federal agency to scam people.
I received a call from 509-233-4023 saying the IRS was pursuing legal action against me. I called back and told them I was turning their number over to TIGFA (the IRS site where you report such things). They hung up on me.
I have rec'd multiple calls from this bag of dirt. Always automated, from "IRS", threatening to sue me, and that this is my "final notice". IRS has their own regulations and policies regarding any tax liens/issues. They DO NOT call you cold, threatening to sue! Mail notification, yes, but do not fall for these phone messages. They are just one in a long line of creeps trying to get your money.
