Got a call from this number and went online to search to see who/what etc and as usual 800notes.com came up.
When they called it did not make my phone ring so it did not bother me.
I set my default ringtone to silent. Callers who are not in my address book cannot make my phone ring so they can't bother me.
I assign a default ring tone to my address book members via the groups functions. Every one you put in your address book in an android phone gets automatically assigned to a default group - you don't even have to assign them yourself. Find that group and assign that group a default ringtone.
Doing this will make any one in your address book who calls you ring your phone while any one not in your address book, such as these dirtbag telemarketers such as 509-494-8521 can no longer bother you as your phone will simply "stay silent" and not ring.
I discovered how to do this a few months ago and let me tell you, I love it.
I then found a free app called talking ringtone maker, I used that and made talking ringtones for my friends and family. The ringtone simply says "a family member is calling" or "a friend is calling". I go in and assign these ringtones to family or friends. I also made one that says "a local business is calling" then made a few more custom ringtones for certain people like my son and wife.
Now my phone stays silent when I want it to as in when a telemarketer is calling. My phone now tells me who is calling via a talking ringtone when it is some one who is in my address book. It is pretty easy and it works and now my phone has gone from that thing I have to carry but hate to something a lot more useful and a lot less irritating. Hay telemarketers F,U. You can no longer bother me!
If I am selling something on Craigslist, I just tell people to text me or call and leave a message. I also changed my message on my phone to remind people that if they are not in my address book my phone does not ring so they should leave a message or text me. I works.
