Received telemarketing call tonight at 7:30 pm, supposedly from Logan Parker of First Defense Security Systems, selling home security systems. I told the caller that we are on the Do Not Call list which is true.

"The caller was identified as a collection agency..." but the agency itself was not named.
It's a laughable sort of cowardice, if this is true, to quack like a duck but when the duck hunter comes out, to pull on a 'quail' mask.
Or, it's like I've suspected all along - these huge phone banks do it all, a sort of one stop shopping for mass telephoning. One day, the caller is selling security systems, the next, demanding money.
Either way, if it's a telemarketer, no message, no response. If it's a debt collector, no USPS letter, no response. The solution is exactly *that* simple.
They called saying they were Home Defense company out of Henderson, Nevada, and yet the phone number is from Benton City, WA. I called it back after hanging up the first time, and the guy answered, Hello....no company name, nothing. The first time they were pretending to be an advertising call hoping that we, as home owners, would assist in advertising in this area. Their first question was whether or not we had a security system installed in our home. Of course, I hung up immediately----without answering their question. This is a scam place, I know it!
