Its a scam. And these people are criminals. Guy who answered has an Asian accent and says he is calling from the "IRS bureau." You would think these thieves would get the script correct. Too bad folks wander into these traps.
This number called back to back, so i thought it was an emergency. It was a recording saying they were from the IRS and they were filing suit. The IRS doesn't do that (I"m a tax accountant). So I call the number and an indian accent answers, IRS. I ask him for his file number (all IRS reps have them, they recite them before they start talking to you). He said my what? I said your file number.
Him: Who is this?
Me: if you were the IRS you would have a file number. Your recording called me....
Him: Thank you, have a nice day, goodbye. And he disconnected.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
This is a scammer company who claims to be the IRS. After I called them back 6 times they admit to being a scam. All of the calls ended with them hanging up on me, In one call I asked them who was the Vice President of the United States. He didn't know. 509-590-0173 is one to avoid. In my final call to these scammer, the man on the phone said he was [***] my wife. Good job, I don't have a wife! LOL Someone needs to get this number (obviously originating in India) removed. 509-590-0173 is trouble!
