This number 509/720-0593 called earlier today, when I got up I checked the caller ID and recalled the number since I didn't recognize it and we are currently planning some things so just in case...this man with a deep accent answered 'IRS' said oh..I think I have the wrong #.. He said no Mrs. ..and said my name we are just giving you a courtesy call that you owe the IRS and you have a warrant issued for your and Mr immediate arrest for not paying your taxes, well to make a long story semi short after arguing with him and getting wound up into panic mode..my daughter says I think it's a scam, so I googled the # -as we all did apparently- and found this info, googled the nearest IRS office which of course was closed due to cutbacks, found the local IRS advocate # called and talked to her - all the while this man was on the line because he kept telling me that if I hung up he would consider us a flight risk, he wanted my cell number to track me on my way to the bank to pay him where they would meet me outside the local office, he kept reminding me very aggressively that I was speaking to a federal agent and to 'watch my tongue' as I was being recorded, which I replied 'good so that way I have it on record what a bunch of [***] this was'!
The Advocate stayed on the line while I confronted the caller telling him that this was extortion and if he sent the police here then that would be great so I could give them all the info I have, needless to say he hung up...but they had the nerve to call back a few hours later! Which the IRS Advocate said would,happen....just beware! These guys are good! Badge #s and everything!
