Call leaving a message saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to return the call, I checked the number, found out it was a scam and did not call back!
Recorded message said the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and I needed to call this number back. I reacted by laughing uncontrollably. Does anybody fall for these stunts?
I got the same message and called back, a man with an East Indian accent answered and when I asked his name he hung up on me. I called back and the call could not be completed. REMEMBER, if the IRS is going to contact you it will always be via U.S MAIL.
Got the same call yesterday at about 5:00 PM. Exact same message -- suit is going to be filed, call this number immediately. Called the number and someone with the same foreign accent answered, "Internal Revenue Service." I asked is this really the IRS?" He said that it was and then I asked him what state he was calling from -- that totally threw him. He asked me to call back in an hour. I did and now all I get is a busy signal.
This is a IRS scam.It matches back to two spoofed numbers.One a private individual and the other a business.How convienent the business is a tax accounting service.
This won't make sense to most posters but there is a reason I leave the following statement.
The name of the individuals number spoofed does have significance.Thank you I found the lynchpin.It also has connection with a number in Triangle also listed here.You know who is connected to you know what.
Why do these people get away with this? Why can't someone do something about them calling, calling and calling? The authorities know the number that is being used to make these calls, yet no one does anything about it. What good does it do when we keep reporting the calls and yet the calls keep coming??? When is someone going to stop them!!!!
