Oh hell, I forgot about this forum thread. At the time I investigated one of the cited videos. Complaints have appeared for almost two years now. My speculation was very close to the truth.

I've gotten them, too. I've seen exact same scheme a couple of years ago under a different name. This time mine was from a "Mentor Eric" and this incarnation is called "8 Figure Dream Lifestyle". Definitely a pyramid scam. The people getting rich off the scam are the ones running the web site and telemarketing services for the people that do this.
robocall that came in saying "this is kyle<?> thanks for pressing 1 for more information. [but how could i have done that in answering, kyle?] [pitch continues]" in the next few minutes you'll receive a text with a link to the website with all of the secrets ..... and more scam scam scam."
the frequency of scam-spam calls sure has picked up over the last six months or so.
