I received a call from the same number (510-936-6535). I already knew this was a scam, because I received the same call a month ago with a different number. I told them to fax me on their company letter head the information that they claim to have in front of them. I also told them that I wanted his full name and his supervisor's full name. And, that I wanted them to fax what they supposed to have on me. He got real smart and said that he would not do it. So, I told him the next time he calls me I will personally come to where he is and hurt him. I did not receive the call again.
I have been receiving these same calls and I called back today. I also found it fishy that his name was John Smith and that I had some Federal crime against me. When I told him I would give no infromation until I knew what this was about he got his 'supeervisor' on the phone. The supervisor told me that if I did not settle this debt, I would be in court on Monday. He said something about and affidavit and kept askign me to verify my information. I said that I would not until I understood what he was accusing me of. He finally got frustrated with me and told me he would see me in court on Monday. I have now reported him to the REAL Federal Crime Investigation Team and the local authorities. Thank you to those who have previously posted, at least now I know this is a scam (and before I gave any info away)
I have recieved the same call from the same man but he says he is patrick. When i called he would not give a last name. He claims he is an investigator for the FBI. And made threats on my voicemail. I am going to report him to the local authorities. Thank all of you for the post and the advise. This call really had me upset. Now I know it's a scam
