The lady started off by just speaking saying she wanted to get some information about a job that I applied for to make sure I would be a good fit for the position. She started to go on a long explanation when I tried to interrupt her since I no longer reside in California. I asked where is this position is located since I haven't applied for any work on the west coast. Her response was "yes". Being a little confused by the response and since the person on the line was extremely fluent in English I repeated my question. I was then hung up on. I can only assume that this was either a recording that could only answer to predetermined question or it in fact was some kind of phishing call to get my personal information. I post this not to warm people after the fact but to inform you never give out personal information over the phone unless you are 150% sure who is on the other end of the line and even then be hesitant.
I received a call from this number and the lady told me that she got my number in jobs ads and wanted to know if I would fit into their requirements. Her first question is "are you a citizen of the US?" After getting my answer i was hung up.
