They've called several times to try desperately to get me to load up their Remote PC control software. Then they try to trick you into going to a website and loading remote control, session control or some other PC remote desktop software so they can load a virus on your PC and steal your identity. If you have ANY question about them, demand to see their website. EVERY group in Microsoft has a website and would e-mail you a login and overly complex-LONG temporary password. Microsoft will ALWAYS send you an e-mail when working with you, all their contact info, their managers contact info, everything...
Here's a good youtube search to get you familiar with their scams

A good write up of another of these scams

"George" from "Microsoft accounting" insists that he has a $500 refund for us, enough that he's called and tormented us 5 times in the last week. Same number, same clown on the line. I told him that his mother should be ashamed of him trying to scam people, and that he's joking if he thinks that M$ would ever cold-call and offer money to random folks. I've never paid Microsoft a penny, I proudly pirate all their software.
He hasn't called back after this last telling-off, but I'm sure he will unless we block his number. Best part is the caller ID shows up as "44 Pro Technologies", even though this joker insists he's with Microsoft
I got a similar call from George at Microsoft Security. He said Microsoft was issuing me a refund because my computer is not working. The last Microsoft computer I bought was in 2011 (5 years ago). I really don't think MS would give me any money IF the computer was not working, even though it is fine. I just hung up & the same # called back with Caller ID that said 44 Pro Technolog
We have received numerous calls from these guys telling us they are calling on behalf of Microsoft. Keep telling them that I know they are a scam and to quit calling. Next time I am telling them I am reporting them to the Attorney General.
Received several calls over a few minutes from this guy claiming to be from microsoft and saying my security isn't working. He wants me to go to my computer, but we got no further than that. Strong accent. I answered twice, but ignored it after that.
