Did they know your name and your wife's name is associated with your number?
Probably not.
Autodialers call every number in an area code + exchange.
For example :
512-213-6681 then
512-213-6682 then ...
512-213-9999 then ...
until all possible numbers in an area code + exchange are called.
Then they try another exchange number in that area code.
They try to phish information out of everyone who answers their calls.
Eventually they will get to your number.
I picked up and ONLY LISTENED, as I did not recognize #. I waited for about 6-8 seconds to see if they might initiate "hello, anyone there?", but nothing, so I just hung up. They are probably phishing to see if someone picks up (with voice) so they can pass my # around for marketing or scams. Try this new way of answering, waiting for them to speak first, and if nothing hang up!
