She is well aware of what she is doing. Calls from a variety of numbers. Basically accuses those she calls of being criminals and that somehow or another her office is going to prosecute. Total scam. She's a scamming debt collector. Only public prosecutors handle crimes. No debt collector has anything to do with public prosecutions. This "Jessica Lopez" has a history on 800notes. Ignore and block the calls.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

I typed verbatim the voicemail message left for me. This appears to obviously be some type of scam because there is no reason for this. It may possibly be a debt collector who is obviously unaware of legalities.
This message is intended for XXX. This is Jessica Lopez with the department of investigation, the fraud and economics complaint unit. We’re contacting you regarding pending legal allegations against XXX. You are listed as a known affiliate in our investigation. It is imperative that you or your legal representation contact our office prior to prosecution procedures. Contact our fraud unit at 512-524-9065. Refer to case number XXXXX. Again case number XXXX Govern yourself accordingly. Contact my office immediately.
