Yes, I am getting these calls. But I haven't had a land line phone for years. Just got one a couple of months ago and no one knows my number. But I keep getting calls for the person that had this number before me. Bank mortgae people calling, credit card people , Dr. Offices. Just all kinds of people calling asking for the couple that had this number before. Evidently phone com. didn't let number stay vacant very long before they reassigned it. I got all the other calls stopped. Now just this one. I could get my phone number changed, but then have to go thru all of that again. Or I could remove my phone and go back to not having land line. Don't really need it. Use my cell phone all the time.
We just had a phone installed about a week ago and we have been getting phone calls from this number. Caller ID says it's the Gila Group (whoever they are). On the occasion that I have picked up there is only silence, though I can hear them on the phone. They also call in the evenings and leave a voicemail and when you call they are closed.
These bottom-feeders call using several different tactics. I have never had a traffic ticket, no unpaid bills, first-rate credit, so why the hell are they calling me? Because a relative owed some utility bills and has since passed away a few years ago. The relative NEVER lived with me, never ever set foot in the state where I live, and was in no way connected other than by bloodlines. When I told them she had died, they laughed it off. The stupid [***] can easily look it up in the Social Security records to verify it for themselves but then they are way too stupid to know that. Intimidation is their game. They need to be reported to the state attorney general and I will do that for certain. They have no ethics whatsoever.
Get this call several times a day. Some nonsense about an "urgent court matter." BS, I say. If it were really important then a person would be contacted in an entirely different manner. Bums.
