I received a call from this number stating they were calling from Irwin & Associates (a law firm) and were trying to collect on a payday loan. I told them I didn't owe anything but she became very belligerent and stated I would be processed through the courts, sit in jail and could think about 'stealing' from their client. She wanted $1025 sent to them within 2 hours. I told her I didn't have that kind of money to pay and she then hung up on me.
Thanks- That's the clue that these calls are scams. As soon as the person on the phone tells you "you're going to jail" for a payday loan, it's a fake. There is no debtors' prison in the USA. Also, notice how everything is rush, rush, rush. Don't think about it, just do it. Classic signs of a con. Always ask for proof of debt. Due diligence!
