I received a similar call. Non specific "fraud investigation" from unidentified party informing me I was named as a relative of someone they were investigating. Rude and aggressive. SCAM!!!!
Called and left voicemail saying they are with the fraud and investigation and that someone have a aggravated fraud against me in my state and jurisdiction and I should give them a call back with my case # they provide me...SCAM
My family has been getting the same calls, they called a cousin of mine in California! (I live in Ohio) But they have never once called my phone, just random family members. They said if I don't call back by a certain time they'll put a warrant out for my arrest. I'm not sure what to think, I've never committed any fraud crimes. Is this a scam?
IF a warrant was actually coming, you would NOT be warned. This is a typical and ILLEGAL scare tactic by a probable debt collector. Even if you did owe money, jail/arrest would not happen.
