Same scammers calling to collect money for police, but they keep most of it. These people have called from at least 10+ numbers to my home phone and I've blocked them all. If you want to donate money to some police department, then goto their website and donate through the link on their website. Anyone spoofing their ID and calling from numerous numbers with different area codes are scammers!
I got a call from this number. Like everyone its a "police" group raising money. I'll share what I was told by a police officer many years ago when I fell for one of these scams. The police officer told me the only organization that helps police is the One Hundreds Club. All other groups raise money and keep most of it or all of it. Police are victimized by these people. Many people hear it goes to "help" police and donate. The sad part is this good will never gets to the police and that is why these scammers like to pick police as the organization they "help." Don't fall for it. If you really want to help the police then please ask a police officer what groups actually help them. Don't give blindly to any person claiming to help police. People can claim all they want the police actually know who actually does it.
