Message left by Steve Martin, saying he was from the US Treasury and to call the 512 number. That I was endanger of having to appear before a judge, or grand jury.
called this morning so I answered, got a recording saying it was US Treasury, call them back or else. So I called back and asked how soon I could expect the authorities. Asked if they could send my husband Tommy, a cop, so that he could come home for lunch. Then asked if people really fall for this scam & the guy said yes! I asked if his mother was proud of him & he hung up on me. So I called back. Told them I was going to keep calling so that they couldn't call others. When I called again, I heard someone say "just hang up on her". So I did *67 and called again. Told her I was going to keep them on the phone so they couldn't call someone else. These scams really tick me off because you know they are going to get some naive person on the phone who actually falls for it. They all had Indian/Middle Eastern accents.
