Yes it's a huge scam! Don't call back. We did. They claim you have federal crimes against you and they sound like legit detectives but then they ask for your ssn. They threaten you with arresting you etc etc. Of course i thought it might be legit so I answered their questions at first. They were very vague and had lots of info on me..... But i didn't give them anything so.... Beware!!
Received message, "This is Linda, calling your from the office of Inspector General of Social Security Administration. Your social security number has been suspended. Please contact the emergency helpline number which is 512 910 5962. I repeat 512 910 5962. Thank you." It sounded computerized.
Left an automated message saying my number had been suspended. I'm not sure what number they are referring to as they didn't say. Interestingly enough I received this call after my email had been hacked. Assuming it's a scam.
