Caller ID said Time Warner, but when I dialed the number, a recording said it was a disconnected number. Young girl (sounded like about 17) said she was calling from Time Warner and wanted to speak with the person who handles our Internet service so she could consult with them about our needs. I asked if I could help her (I am one of the decision makers for that service), but all she would say was that she wanted to "consult with the person in charge" of that service. I asked for more information, and she just kept saying she wanted to consult, etc. She repeated that same phrase around 7 or 8 times in the course of a 2 minute conversation. I told her that we were already a Time Warner customer and asked what kind of information she wanted to provide. She actually told me that it did not appear that we were a current customer. I actually laughed out loud and told her we were. She said she was looking at our address, and according to her records, we were not a current customer. I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she said "Ok, we'll call back again later." And then she hung up on me. Strongly suspect fisching.
