Recently have been getting a number of calls from different sources; this one at least had a number by which to identify it. It started out with "You are very important to us. You are caller number two. Please stay on the line and the call will be answered in (gives number of seconds). The number of seconds decreases until it gets to 15 at which point that message is repeated ad nauseum. I do not know if any ever answers, but assume it is probably the same outfit that prompted this original post.
These people claim to be from Future Now Engergy. They want to switch me from Duke to them but claim they are working with Duke to lower my rates as a loyal customer. I figured it was a scam and asked them to mail me the information. They claimed they couldn't mail me anything until I went through the confirmation process, which incidently includes signing up with them. I refused, but they keep calling. I've called Duke to make sure they take me off their list they send to other providers. I really can't believe Duke is selling other compnaies my information and causing me to be harrassed in this way. Basically, even though I'm on the national Do Not Call list, Duke sells my info without my permission (unless I call an ask them to stop), which opens the door for these scam artists to call me legally. Very disappointed in Duke's business practices, but of course, I'm not going to switch. From what I've read on-line (various complaints about Future Now Energy), my bill would double if I went with FNE.
Thank You for the info. I didn't know the number so I didn't answer the phone, but they kept calling. So I thought I would check the number out. Thanks again!

Same as what photon said, I called this number back from my caller ID thinking I missed a friend, and the hold time and message continues to repeat, then at the point where I was told I was next in line, the automated message goes "GOODBYE". What a nuisance after waiting on the line for 5 minutes for an "agent" to answer, I kept being told 15 seconds wait only to get hung up on.
