I have also got a call several times a day, saying the same thing.. its a scam for sure.. pretty scary if you ask me.. I call the number and its said some legal company,, when they leave a mess you cant understand them.. its like take the marbles out of your mouth.. don't give them any info.. scammmmmmmmmmmmmmers..
Received a voicemail that my name and social security number was involved in a time-sensitive legal matter. "We strongly advise you call us back". No mention of who they are or what is was for. I am going to take this as another fraud call.
Called left message they "had my SS number and bank information" wanted a call back today. called them back. Put me on hold- sounded like someone answering a personal phone. She said hello- I said hello- she said "yeah". She how can I help you. I said you called me. Oh, well I didn't call you. Transfer to hold. Got tired of setting for 5 minutes on hold so I hung up. Immediate call back. Claimed I had an open debt with a cash advancement place. They only had the last 4 of my bank account wanted me to finish it and they only had the last 4 of my SS # and again wanted me to finish it. When I asked what the debt was pertaining too, they went through this whole speil of how I defrauded a loan company. I was going to prosecuted on felony charges for $1000.00 debt if I didn't pay today by 5pm. First off- in Ohio $1000 is not a felony. Second why didn't they have my full information. When I asked exactly who they were and how they got my info. she started yelling at me- ...."I hope you got a good attorney because your gonna need it!! This goes to court today at 5pm unless paid". None of it makes any sense. Start asking them questions and DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!! They will hang up and yell at you real fast. They are NOT DEBT COLLECTORS- THEY ARE A Scam!!!
Thank you for going into detail. I received the same voice message, but it was hard to understand what she was saying. I heard my ss # and legal so didn't know what I could have done to get me into legal trouble. I'm not worried about this. Thank you again.
