I worked for a market research firm that I believe had ties to Nielsen when I was a teenager. There were people at the firm who were hooked up to an autodialer whose sole job was to ask the person who answered the phone if it was a home or a business. Then they recorded the response and the firm probably provided those lists to Nielsen and sold them to other companies.
Got the mail, the $1.00, and the call. After answering the question, "are you, a member of your family, or a friend involved in radio, TV, etc." I was advised because I could answer "yes", I was not eligible for the additional money that would be sent - their words "that might buy a doughnut or a cup of coffee".
If you answer numbers you don't know, the consequence is all on you.If you do you probably trust a web link you see on the comments section.Come on people, put common back in sense.DTA!!
got a phone call from this number, sounded like a nice lady but i politely asked her to remove my number off her list... 30 mins later, i get a phone call from the same phone number and from someone who sure as heck sounded exactly like the lady i spoke to earlier, i even said, i believe i just spoke to you some time ago about removing my number didnt i? and she just said shed remove my number from their list and hung up.
