I always mess with these guys since I can't quite get my name off their call list to "qualify" for a lower card rate if I just share my name, credits card , birthday, dogs name, mom's maiden name, ssan.... I have full fake profile but today used a different tactic.
I took the call and the guy said he understood I was interested in lowering my interest rate. I thanked him with a kind tone of voice and asked if "james" was there?  I explained James took all my information 2 days ago and I was hopeful I was approved for the credit card.  I tried to call back to James number but I had trouble connecting.  James was also going to try to get me a job application at the call center since they were local and I hated my job and wanted to do something that helped people. Is James there?
:)  Total silence ... they were not sure what to do and quietly disconnected.  We'll see if my name gets taken off the list
