Toute le monde devient fou! My personal opinion: Since I have been following these bogus phone calls since August, 2007, I have never seen such an explosion of "hits" from all across North America! When I see this kind of insanity, I sometimes get the impression that it is a sign of desperation. These creatures are not meeting their objectives of deceiving people, and are having to cast out their nets further and further from shore (their bases of operations). It is my personal opinion that this lemming-like charge across phone lines will reach a peak, and we know what happens to lemmings when they go out too far from shore. I could be wrong, but these operations could be on the edge of an implosion.
There is the message in French, female voice : Bonjour, vous allez etre mis en contact avec ... then hang up at 6:30 PM. It looks to me these are very dishonnest people, very likely bandits.
So far called twice (I'm in Ottawa) requesting an "urgent" call back to 1-880-480-4920 x 571 and also x 140. Gave a reference file number and client's full name but only provided a first name as caller's identity.
Needless to say, I have not called back.
