My dad got a similar call to wire $1800.00 to Patrick Bunker at 1549 Harbor City in Guatemala to get his "oldest grandson" out of jail. Even though we convinced my dad that it is a scam, he's still very worried about his grandson and needs to hear from him to be convinced.
My grandma was called from this number, early, by someone claiming to be me. He told her he was me, he needed $2000 for bail, and a number of other lies to get her to send him money. This almost worked. Be careful.

My aunt just got a call saying the exact same senerio as above. Then an "officer" from precinct 13 in Manassas, VA called to say where she could send the money. somewhere in Guatemala.
He gave us a number for the jail, to check to see if the grandson was there. A sketchy lady answered and put us on hold.
We have called the police and it looks like the only thing we can do is get the word out.
I have talked to three other people that this has happeded to personally.
Please let others know about this scam.
My mother and father received the same call. This phone number is in Canada - Service Provided by Rogers Communication. Is is registered as a "Business" telephone number. They would not disconnect it. Been trying to contact authorities.
